Recent Meeting Summaries
October 2025
The October 2025 meeting was called to order at 7PM. Three building permits were approved. There was public comment on the the clerk and treasure resignations that the board received. The county is planning on paving 80 feet of roadway under the 275th Street rail trestle. The railroad will also be doing repairs on the track and trestle in the next 6 months. The length of time to complete the repairs will be approximately 1 week. There may be a road closure under the bridge during the repairs. The fall grading in the township has been completed, some touch up work to the roads will still be going on. Crack sealing for this year has been completed. The Xcel project along 230th Street has been completed. The board approved a new policy manual for the board and planning commission. The board approved for a tree to be removed along Cambodia at 263th Street. Deck building permits will no longer require planning commission and board approval, this will speed up the process for residents. There is a new contractor that will be building the solar project in Castle Rock. (See homepage for more information) The snowplowing contract for the townhall was approved. Brush trimming will take place this fall along 230th Street. The board approved job postings to be placed for township clerk and treasure. The board updated the fee schedule and there will be a public hearing prior to the November Board meeting for the publics input. The board received notice that Farmington will be annexing 160 acers from Eureka Township. The board will be researching if any further regulations are needed for the growing of Cannabis in the township. There was a discussion on switching to mail in voting for the township. Dakota County will provide a presentation at the November board meeting, if you would like to know more please attend the November meeting. The township will be applying to the county for a grant to provide better access to the townhall. The board is very concerned about the rising cost of fire protection and is reviewing the current contracts and exploring other options to provide fire and EMT services to the residents. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 10:30PM.
